Starbucks Run to Plan 5k
GREAT run tonight. I went out and my legs felt like lead, and at first I was like “HUH? Why is this?” Then I remembered I ran 26.2 miles two days ago and the last mile was really fast and downhill and I ran hard. So my first mile today was slow slow slow. Second mile my legs were feeling a little better, so I thought “You know, I ran 24 miles and then really pushed it Sunday. What if I push it today? My legs feel better than they did at 24 miles.” So I did.
Mile 2 was fast, mile 3 faster, mile 4 fasty mcfast, mile 5 pretty darn fast, and mile 6 fastest (was going for a sub 9, but got a 9:01 because I stopped before Garmin ticked over. D’oh!)
Ran to S’bux and met Shelley to discuss out 5k plans for Relay. Had coffee and a mini cookie. Very cool that they have those now! Then ran home. I ran in a tank on the way in and froze on the way back because the temp had dropped literally 18 degrees. BRRRR!
