That’s a long way to run for Mac and Cheese!

Megan tweeted that she wanted to run 15 miles today and I didn’t have plans, so why not?
–an aside–
As someone who used to need to stop and catch her breath halfway up a single flight of stairs, can I just say I think it is so FREAKING COOL to be in the kind of condition where I can just say “Fifteen miles to dinner? Sure!”
–aside over–
So we met at my place. My dog threatened to eat her and then we took off. Because I have an injured calf, we did 5:1 intervals. The weather was great. We talked a LOT! I love good company who talks while we run! There were some points where I did a lot of talking, but that’s okay. I’m used to it and she is too! LOL!
Our goal was 15 miles and Panera Mac and Cheese. We hit the Everett Mall and ran in to get some Powerade and realized that at mile 13 we were nowhere NEAR the next mall, and it was going to be more like 19 miles, so we called Roy and asked him to meet us at the 128th street Starbucks.
Garmin reported that in 16 miles I burned 871 calories. Garmin is on my list…the same list that Florida is on. Body Bugg said I burned 1472. That’s more like it!
Finished 16 miles total. My calf was actually feeling fantastic and I had another ten miles in me, but was glad to finish with a cup of my favorite coffee, and then head to Panera.
Roy was hilarious. He decided to “upgrade my image” at Hot Topic and bought me 6 shirts. Apparently he wants to upgrade his 44 year old wife, to a 14 year old emo girl. I’m hip to that jive. Oh wait…that ages me, doesn’t it?
Thanks for the run Megan! It was awesome!
