Beautiful morning run
It was so gorgeous this morning I had to go out and run. Seriously! Yeah, it was 20 degrees colder than yesterday, and there was ice all over the roads…but I had no choice. The blue sky beckoned. Took Wiley with me on the first half, since his leg was bothering him yesterday. He seemed fine, but I think 3 miles was plenty. Roy ran to Walmart (double bonus…got out of going to Walmart) to pick up a few things while I ran. We met at Starbucks where I sat being stared at by small children with delight, and some adults with curiosity or disgust. Why you ask? Well last week I ran the Goofy Challenge and the one thing I forgot to bring was my awesome Goofy Hat with the big goofy ears. I was lamenting that this morning, looking at the hat and thought “Why not? Why not indeed!” (Bonus points if you can name the actor, movie, and scene that comes from.) So I ran with my silly Goofy hat on, ears flapping behind me.
Only issue was my darned peronius. It was tight to start, but I slipped twice on the ice and strained it more. It was like a lightning bolt, but on the way home it was better…just tight and little pain. Rest, you say? Okay, I’ll try, but I wouldn’t bet the farm on my success in that arena.
It was chillier on the way home as the clouds were coming in and the sun wasn’t warming me at all. It’s so cool, though, that even though the sun is still far away, I could actually feel the rays this run! It was also cool that a week ago I was running in Florida in the sleet, snow, rain, wind, and freezing cold…and it was nicer in Washington.
(We will not talk about what it’s like in Florida today. Florida is on my list, and not my good list, either. Consider yourself warned, Florida…consider yourself warned. One more stunt like that and there will be words. Oh yes. I have run the WDW marathon twice, and twice it’s been “unseasonably cold” so Florida, you are on notice.)
Plan to see Up in the Air today, sans Goofy Hat.
