December 6 Tory ran with Marie in the Las Vegas Marathon. But the real story is Shelley, who completed her first half marathon in an outstanding time! We ran with Elvis(es), saw a showgirl and a white tiger, got to run the ENTIRE Vegas Strip, and had a GREAT time.

 

December 13 Tina, Nicole, and Kim joined Tory and Roy for the Jingle Bell Dash. It was a chilly beautiful day and we even got a few (very few) flakes. This was Roy's first 5k since breaking his pelvis. Kim ran the entire thing without stopping (except up one hill). Tina had a 5k PR and so didNicole! Kim is now training for her first 10k!

 

December 20 Megan, Dana, Cathy, Tory, Shelley, and Karen ran the12ks of Christmas on the many hills of Kirkland. Karen beat her goal time by 5 minutes. Megan finally ran that 12k she had her sites on, only detouring to 3 marathons, and 2 half marathons along the way. Cathy andDana finished strong! Shelley also ran strong just two weeks after completing her first half marathon in December.

 

December 22 was the first annual Holidays Lights Run (see photo). Over 20 people showed up to run 1 or 3 miles to see the holidays lights of Marysville. We brought in over 5 big boxes of food for the foodbank. This will definitely be an annual event! Thanks to Wendie for her help organizing and to Roy for keeping the cocoa warm! 

 

December 27 was the first Winter Trail Run. This was Terri's first Trail Run, and was Seret's first run with Journey Fitness. We all had a good time and no one was eaten by a bear. There are still three more runs in the series, so join us!
