Happy Goalaversary to Me

I stepped on the scale and was down to my Weight Watchers goal weight of 130 pounds. Over the next month I lost another 10 pounds, and have stayed between 115 and 122 (my official weight when I started was 222, but I was actually closer to 240 the summer before). So officially I have lost and maintained a loss of 100 pounds for a year. Unofficially I have lost and maintained a loss over almost 120 pounds.

How have I done it? The same way I lost it.

1. I journal everything I eat every day.
2. I exercise most days of the week about an hour a day.
3. I balance my calorie intake with my calorie output, going for a net of between 1200 and 1500 per day (which means I eat 1900-2300 per day, more on really long run days)
4. I weigh myself a minimum of once a week.
5. I focus on eating mostly nutritious, whole foods, but with few exceptions I eat whatever I want. I just don't eat as much as I can of whatever I want whenever I want to.

Is it hard?

Yes, sometimes. But it's easier than being obese. Losing weight has been the very best thing I've done for myself, next to marrying my husband. My life has changed so dramatically in the last 8 years (including the year I was on Weight Watchers actively losing).
