Black Friday Traditional Run

Roy loves Black Friday. I went once and the behavior of others frustrated me so much (cutting, taking things out of people’s baskets, pushing, all with kids in hand…nice role models) made me say NEVER AGAIN! But Roy likes it and is much more patient than I am, so he got up at 1:45 and headed out the door while the dogs and I snuggled back into bed until 5:30.
At 6:30 I headed out for a morning run. Our tradition is to meet at Starbucks when he’s done and then head into Seattle for some holiday cheer and to watch the tree lighting in Westlake. We’ll also head to the Seattle Marathon expo. I’m not running it this year, but I have a number of my team who are and I’m volunteering. (Lest anyone get concerned, I am running the Ghost of Seattle marathon tomorrow, so I’m still running my turkey off!)
Took Wiles with me and ran in the dark a very easy pace as my right hammie and left ankle have both been bothering me. Nothing major and I am sure it won’t impact my ability to do the marathon tomorrow. Just tweaking some and I really pushed it yesterday, so today was easy peasy. Wiles was very good and loved the run. Roy met us there and Wiley was safely tucked into the van while I sipped coffee and read the paper and ate homemade ginger cookies with Roy. I had left them in the van yesterday and realized if I left them in the van with Wiley we’d have no ginger cookies and a very sick dog.
Heading out to Seattle soon. We missed the parade, but wanted to drop off the food from yesterday at the foodbank and get more organized. Unfortunately the food bank is closed, so we’ll do it Monday. Great haul from yesterday’s turkey trot!
