AFLAC Irongirl 5k this morning with my 5k and 10k group and some of my marathoners and half marathoners. Okay, what a FUN race and what a wonderful group of people I was with! Sophia beat the PANTS off all of us with her 34 minute finish. Wendie and Sonja ran their very first 5k and finished with BIG tired smiles. Wendy, Karen, Jacquie, and Amy all did their first 10k and are (hopefully) going to consider moving to the half marathon distance next. (I know Jacquie is already doing the training for that.) Megan ran easy as did Trista as all three of us are doing the Skagit Flats marathon tomorrow. It was a good time! We somehow missed Brooke, although we did see her husband and kids. Shari did awesome as did Terri (who is an old pro at this). Personal bests were made everywhere. I saw people I haven’t seen in a long time (Betsy, Matt, Beth, Carrie, and Kathy). Linda won 1st in her age group! Woo hoo! Me? I was slow, but that’s okay. I started in the back, I’m not feeling good (Hank is haunting me) and I wasn’t there for me…I was there for my fantastic friends!
