Yay! My legs are BACK!

Erin and I met this afternoon for a 15 mile run. This is the longest run I’ve run since the Rock and Roll Marathon, and honestly I was a bit concerned. I’ve had a series of leg injuries that have REALLY been frustrating me! I have a marathon coming up Labor Day weekend and I was REALLY starting to get nervous. (I also have one a week later, and another the week after that.)

My calf was tight, but not painful and I just felt good from mile one through mile 15.6! Yay! I feel like I’m back!

Long distance running is just so much a part of my identity that running 28 miles in the last two days has really made me feel “normal” again, particularly with all the stuff that’s going on right now.

Plus it was great to just run and chat and run and chat with Erin. We talked about everything from religion to Elton John to tuna casserole! Now THAT is a good run!
