What was I thinking?

Okay do NOT go out and try to run in the late afternoon when it’s over 90 degrees! What WAS I thinking? I wanted to get my nails done, but didn’t want to drive, so I decided to walk/run to the nail place. Plan was to just take it easy, listen to “Graveyard Book” (Neil Gaiman rules) and enjoy the warm summer sun. No pressure… I was actually fine for the first 2.5 miles. I was really slow, walking when I needed to. But then I suddenly was so nauseous I thought I was either going to throw up or pass out or throw up then pass out into it…I had ice water with me, that was now tepid water, slowed to a nice easy walk and just walked in. Obviously that was WAY too much heat for this PNWer! I recognize the onset of heat illness, so I was smart about it. My HR was way up, and I was really miserable. Called Roy and had him pick me up after my fill. On the good news front, I now have neon green nails! Was considering the Luna Mini Tri tonight, but it’s simply way too hot to drive to Seattle and run, even if I will bike/swim first. Nope. Sorry. Darn. :P Maybe to entertain myself I’ll have a BBQ instead.
