Kayaking on Snohomish River

As if we hadn’t already done enough today, we decided to stop off and check out the Snohomish River. We’ve never kayaked on it, and we had both our kayaks with us, so we stopped and decided just to go for a little bit. We started going upstream, figuring we’d rather be going with the current on the way back. That was CHALLENGING! My arms have now filed for a legal separation! After an hour or so of swimming, tricep dips and bench push ups during bootcamp, they were so cranky over the kayaking!

We went out for 35 minutes. Saw some opsrey, heron, and two bald eagles being chased by seagulls. It was SO beautiful and somehow even more peaceful for the freeway nearby with cars zipping by. Loved it!

We decided to see how fast we could come back, going with the current. We started a timer and paddled back as hard as we could, to the launch site. It took us 35 minutes of pretty challenging paddling to get out, and less than 10 mintues to get back! Wow!

And now I am going to go to the funky Chinese buffet down the street and ENJOY some good mongolian grill and some sesame bawls!! I’ve earned ‘em!
