Run with My Dog

Darn I am frustrated with my running lately. I feel like it’s three steps forward, two back. Woke up feeling better this morning after a great trail run yesterday, but an afternoon/evening of pancreatitis. Unfortunately my lower right leg was really hurting. I had a massage yesterday and she really worked on that leg, so I am hoping that’s all it is. Just some residual “Marqui de Massage” pain. Wiley and I headed out for a run to meet Roy and Dash at Starbucks. It was a lot of stop and go, so that’s part of the time issue, but it was also a lot of “Ouch my leg hurts, and maybe I shouldn’t have eaten that big bowl of cereal and then run out the door” business too. Met the other two family members at Starbucks then headed off to the Dog Park! Oh boy did the boys have fun! It’s always SO worth it to take a special trip out there! Yes, our dogs are spoiled. We drive almost an hour to take them to the dog park that they love. Unfortunately there was some guy there throwing a ball for his dog. When Dash got involved and jumped on his dog in play, he went over and started beating Dash with a plastic ball thrower. Poor boy was SO confused! I saw it and yelled out, “Please do NOT hit my dog!” and he insisted he was attacking his dog. “No, they are playing. I do not EVER hit my dogs and you had better not hit him again!” “I’ll hit him if he’s attacking my dog!” “NO, you won’t. He’s not attacking your dog. Leave your hands and implements off of him. He has never been hit.” “Oh Wah!”

What a jerk!  Of course all three dogs (mine and his) are just playing. He got mad and left, which is probably a good thing. I wish people with dogs would LEARN about their dogs! There is a very easy difference between a dog who is PLAYING and a dog who is ATTACKING. My poor buddy. He looked SO hurt! He had no idea what he’d done wrong!
