What's Up....

Pussycat...whoa ah whoa ah whoooooaaaaah!

Oh sorry, channeling a little Tom Jones, there. Don't get me started. I might sing "Kiss" next.

So things are good! My online personal training is going nicely. I have a nice little cadre of wonderful clients who just make me SO PROUD OF THEM! It's exciting to watch them (via messages) change their lives, and it's nice because I "get it". I know what it's like. I get the days when you just want to throw in the towel. I still deal with the temptations. I think that's why I'm glad I chose this niche of people who are working weight loss and fitness, rather than working with muscle bound studs who, quite frankly, would probably make me feel bad about myself! LOL! The daily (often more than daily) exchanges are just awesome, and my website is getting better all the time (if I do say so myself...I'm putting a lot of work into it). The site is www.journeyfitnessonline.com if you want to poke around!

I am halfway through coaching my first group of 5k-ers and we've been having FUN! We meet each week at a location and we're moving from walk/run to run/walk or walk/brisk walk to brisk walk/walk. On September 7 we're going to do a 5k. It will be almost everyone's first. I am just loving getting to know this delightful group of ladies! A few I already knew, but I got to meet some new faces and I hope to see them around again. I think our session this week was the best yet. Everyone seemed so much more relaxed and it was just a gorgeous night. I can't WAIT for the race.

I've advertised for a half marathon program that starts tomorrow and runs up to the Seattle Half Marathon (or full marathon). At this point I have no one who has RSVPed so we'll see what happens. I'm going into it with an open mind. If only a few show, we have a nice tight, small running group. If a lot show, that would be awesome. If no one shows, oh well. I regroup and start a new group with a goal of the very first Seattle Rock and Roll Marathon! Yup! Seattle has a Rock and Roll Marathon now! Anyone want to join me? I already signed up!

I don't have any in-person clients yet, but that's not where my marketing has been up to this point. I definitely WANT some in-person clients but I'm okay with how things are now. I'm starting out slow, learning along the way, and meeting new and wonderful people. What more could one ask for?

On a personal front, I attended the All Comers Track Meet again this week. I ran the 800 in 3:48, the 1600 in 7:48 (and won a t-shirt because you get to predict your finish time and if you come in within 3 seconds of it, you get a free t-shirt. I predicted 7:50), and the 3k in 15:38. I was last on the 800, but not on the others. One of the boys I ran with last week told me he was so tired after the 10k, that he went home and crashed last week! LOL! He beat me, but I didn't go home and crash. (Hey, I have to rationalize to feel good about my performance. Let me have my moment.) Yesterday I ran 4 miles earlier in the day so I felt okay to push it. My legs are PAYING FOR IT TONIGHT! I need to remember that I just did a big event and my muscles aren't recovered yet! I'm supposed to run 18 miles on Sunday with a few friends, but we'll see if my leggies will do all 18. Fortunately they're meeting me at noon to do 12 of my 18, so if I don't feel up to 18 I can just do 12. I know I can handle that.

(Oh let's face it. You all know me well enough by now that there's a really good chance I'll do the full 18.)

Roy brought this home for me today:
DSCI0115
Isn't it awesome? He painted it! It's waterproof too so I can put it up when I hold running classes. I love it!

I am considering doing a podcast. I am writing the first script. I feel so lame saying that...but you never know. Might be fun!
